Tubing behind a boat on a lake is one of the most fun times that you can have this summer, with friends or with family. It’s both simple and strenuous, exhilarating and safe, and will undoubtedly be one of the most memorable experiences of the summer. As with all sports, though, your experience will be largely dependent on the equipment that you use. Long gone are the days of hauling a truck tire laden with children behind a motorboat; the sport of tubing has advanced significantly. Here are a few of the best towable tubes to choose from for your summer experience.
Coupe Cockpit
The Coupe Cockpit line of tubes is one of the easiest to use, both in set up and in the actual tubing. It is extremely simple to inflate and get going behind the boat, and is on the less expensive side of available tubes. The unique part of the Coupe Cockpit is the way that the tuber sits, in a sort of low chair formed by the tube. This makes it ideal for anyone with back or knee problems, and anyone who might be a bit less experienced or nervous about the experience. The Coupe Cockpit comes in 1, 2, and 3-person varieties for a decent amount of variability.
Thriller
On the opposite side of adrenaline from the Coupe Cockpit is the Thriller. Instead of a relaxing chair, this tube has nowhere to sit at all. Instead, handles on the front are provided for tight gripping as your body rests on top of the tube. This means, once you get going, you are flying through the water just like Superman and, more often than not, getting a face full of water spray. The Thriller tube is a bit more advanced, shouldn’t be used by young children, and can be one of the most fun tubes out there. Different models of Thriller are available for different sizes and can carry up to four people.
Resort Sports
The Resort Sports line of tubes are exclusively for bigger parties. For 6 and 8 people, there are the Resort Sports Inline models, which are long, single-file tubes with enough room for all of the people involved to sit. For even larger parties of 10 or 12, there are the Resort Sports Closed Bows, which are large ovals designed to take 5 or 6 on a side at a time. If you have a large party to entertain on the lake, then this could be the option for you.
