Basic Steps to Installing a Lattice Fence

There are many different types of fences available on the market today. While most may go for the more traditional standard fence, many are starting to switch over to a lattice fence. A lattice fence is a fence that consists of strips of wood, metal, or vinyl that are fastened together and crossed with a square or diamond-shaped space left in between. Here are the steps to installing a lattice fence that will make your yard the talk of the town.
Benefits of Building Your Own Fence
According to Tim’s Fences, you want to start by determining the area where you will be building your fence. Next, you want to run a string line to mark the fence line and where you will be setting the posts. Once the outline has been marked off, it’s time to get the tools ready. For this type of job, you will need a skill saw, concrete, a level, a drill, some wood screws, and a tape measure.
Next, we want to concrete in the posts along the string line approximately eight feet apart. After the posts are set, make sure that they are level. This is the framework for the soon-to-be lattice fence. Once the posts are set, the 2x4s can be attached on the top and the bottom of the posts.
After the 2x4s are in place, the next step is to install the lattice. Cut and install it so that it fits between the posts and use wood screws to secure the lattice to the fence posts and 2x4s. Repeat this procedure for the rest of the lattice fence.
What to Do Once Your Fence Is up
Finally, use a water sealer to protect your new fence and give it a great appearance. This is something that should be done once per year to make sure that your fence lasts a long time. You can connect with them on Facebook for more updates!
