There is a lot happening at Subaru, 2017 brings with it the first Impreza built in the US as well as the first Impreza to be built on the new global platform which has been designed to accommodate future hybrids and all electric variants.
The new Subaru Impreza in Naperville is not available yet as a hybrid or all electric models, what it does have is a revised 2.0 L direct injected engine. The new engine is more powerful than previous 2.0 L engines used in the Impreza family. In the past the Impreza had the option of either a manual transmission or automatic, the new Impreza will be available only with a continuously variable automatic in the US market. As has always been the case, the new Subaru Impeza in Naperville will still be all wheel drive which is a great feature when you are faced with winter in Chicago.
Long list of benefits:
The new platform that the car is built on is considerably more rigid than any earlier model; this in part is due to the extensive use of high strength steel. The added rigidity has reduced interior noise and improved the ride quality.
The new platform is not only stronger, it is bigger. The wheelbase, the overall length and the overall width of the new Impreza is larger; this improvement will show in increased interior room for passengers and cargo.
The new Subaru Impreza in Naperville will still be available in four variations. Regardless of whether you go for the base, premium, sport model or limited they all come with a large infotainment system, Bluetooth, split folding rear seats and tilt-telescope steering wheel.
There are just so many upgrades and improvements in the new Subaru Impreza, all of which can be seen later this year when the models arrive in Subaru showrooms.
Even though the 2017 Subaru Impreza is still a few months away, the new Subaru Impreza for 2016 is available in all variants at Hawk Subaru and also like our Facebook page.
